With a lot of ham left from our Easter dinner, I wanted to make something a little different than my normal ravioli or macaroni and cheese. I just didn’t want to loose the convenience of leftovers. So, here is what I came up with, my son calls this bird nests so let’s go with that.
Ingredients:
Leftover Ham, cubed
Green Bell Pepper, chopped
4 Green Onions, chopped
Two Roma tomatoes, diced
Cheddar, garlic and dill cheese
1 Box Puff Pastry Dough
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine ham, pepper, onion, tomatoes and cheese and mix.
Roll dough out large (enough to fit across a large muffin pan)
Cut the dough around each muffin cup and allow the dough to fall down into the cups.
Fill each cup with ham mixture
Bake according to the dough instructions.
I served the nests with roasted carrots and asparagus. The kids loved this meal and you could easily change the ingredients to use any leftovers you have.

That looks so delicious and a great idea for leftover ham. And here I thought that I wouldn't want to think about food for awhile....yeah sure!
These look so good, I think I need to make a ham just so I have leftovers :)
The nests look adorable and seem like a great use of leftovers.
I am so making this on the weekend thanks for sharing a great idea!
Love this idea!
We must be on the same wave-length! I just regrouped my freezer so I can use stuff before we move and I am making my own version of the bird's nest tomorrow night:) Yours look great and I know my boys would like them.
As for having a full life...mine is definitely full, but no complaints here.
this looks fantastic--perfect for my hubby and me. he could put ham in his and i could make mine veggie. love easy recipes like this :)
I love these! What a great way to use leftovers!
I could also see these as little appetizers for a party. Great idea.
I never would have thought doing it this way. Normally my leftovers get tossed with eggs. I like this idea a lot.
i've said it before, and i'll say it again--puff pastry is a magical and wondrous ingredient. your little nests are colorful and contain such fabulous leftovers. these are stellar. :)
Such a great idea...will definitely make since I still have lots of ham from Easter.
What a fantastic idea! Clever you - I will definitely be doing this at Xmas time.
This looks very tasty and the size is very appealing for the kids! thanks for the idea.
Truth: Not sure I'd eat a bird's nest.
Another Truth: I'd scarf these up in no time flat!
Love the fact that these are so kid friendly. I'll pass this idea along to my sister... my niece would love them!
